Dr. Elisabeth Sobieczky

Elisabeth Sobieczky received her M.A. in art history from the University of Würzburg and her Dr. phil. from the TU Berlin (2004). Her work experience includes several years in the museum field, before joining the University of Graz as postdoctoral university assistant (2006-2013). Since 2014 she has been lecturing at various universities (CU Boulder, US; University of Vienna; Academy of Fine Arts Vienna; University of Salzburg; Danube University Krems). She was recipient of a dissertation scholarship by the Gerda-Henkel-Foundation (2000-2002) and was a prae-doc fellow of GRK 260: “Art History – Building Research – Historical Monument Conservation”, funded by DFG (1999-2002). 2019-2023 she was senior postdoc at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and PI of the project P 32716-G: “The Polychromy of Early and High Medieval Wood Sculpture”, funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). Currently, she is a senior postdoctoral researcher and affiliated with IMAREAL, University of Salzburg.
