Bella Radenović is a PhD candidate at The Courtauld Institute of Art in London. Her thesis focuses on the materiality, patronage and veneration of portable icons in medieval Georgia, as well as on how they have been conceptualised, documented and displayed since the late nineteenth century. Her research interests include cross-cultural exchange in the eastern Mediterranean and devotional practices in the South Caucasus, especially in the mountainous region of Svaneti in the north of Georgia. After obtaining a BA in the History of Art from the University of Cambridge (2013) and an MA from The Courtauld (2014), she worked as a specialist of 19th- and 20th-century eastern European art at Sotheby’s, London. In 2020-2021, Bella was the editor-in-chief of Immediations (vol.19), the Courtauld’s peer-reviewed journal of postgraduate research.
