Dr. Giovanna Targia

Giovanna Targia studied Philosophy at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, where she obtained her PhD in History of Art in 2009; her PhD dissertation, a critical edition of a lecture cycle by Aby Warburg, was published in 2013. She has been research assistant at the Scuola Normale from 2010 to 2012; from 2013 to 2014 she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max-Planck-Institut für Kunstgeschichte in Rome. In September 2013 she was awarded the DAAD Ladislao-Mittner-Preis for the History of Art. From 2014 to 2016 she held an Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung postdoctoral fellowship at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. Since 2017 she works on the editorial project of Heinrich Wölfflin's Gesammelte Werke at the University of Zurich.
