Rembrandts ‚Schule‘ des Sehens und der Fuß des Samson

Un particolare sconcertante del Sansone accecato dai filistei, dipinto da Rembrandt nel 1636 e acquistato nel 1905 da Carl Justi per lo Städel Museum di Francoforte, non è stato ancora chiarito. Perché l’artista ha dipinto un piede nudo e di proporzioni monumentali al centro della sua composizione? Si può davvero ipotizzare che dietro questo gesto provocatorio si nasconda una parte di quella gemalte Theorie che Rembrandt non pose mai per iscritto?
