Promotion in München über die Kunstpatronage der Bankiersfamilie Torlonia in Rom (1. Hälfte 19. Jahrhundert). In den Jahren 1990-1994 Forschungsstipendien des Zentralinstituts für Kunstgeschichte, der Deutschen Forschungsgesellschaft und des Deutschen Studienzentrums in Venedig für das Forschungsprojekt: Francesco Leopoldo Cicognaras "Storia della Scultura" (1813-1818). Von 1994 bis 2021 wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Kunsthistorischen Institut in Florenz (zunächst an dem DFG-Projekt der Photothek: Ital. Malerei des 19. Jahrhunderts; ab 1997 in der Bibliothek).
