Anna Luise Schubert, M.Sc.

Coordinator, Lise Meitner Group

Anna Luise Schubert is an architectural researcher and cultural worker. Her research focuses on the political implications of modern building materials and the exploration of experimental preservation techniques, often through exhibitions, films, and public interventions. She coordinates the Lise Meitner Research Group “Coded Objects” at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz - Max-Planck-Institut. As a board member of the Centre for Documentary Architecture she co-conceived its online archive project documentary-architecture.org (since 2019), organised the research project and exhibition series "The Matter of Data" (2019-2022), and contributed to its internationally presented films such as the eight-screen video installation "Deep White" (35 min, 2019). She is also a founding member of the Förderverein Palast der Republik e.V. in Berlin. She holds a Master’s degree in architecture from Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar and received scholarships from Akademie der Künste Berlin and Sto-Stiftung. Previously, she was a research associate at the Chair of Architectural Theory and Science at the Technical University of Darmstadt, where she co-organised the international conference “Are You a Model? On an Architectural Medium of Spatial Exploration” (2022) and co-edited the eponymous publication (forthcoming 2024).
