Wang Yu, M.A.
Studiosa associata

Wang Yu is a PhD candidate at the World Art History Institute of Shanghai International Studies University, specializing in the study of materials and techniques in Italian Renaissance paintings and drawings. Her research focuses on historical treatises, particularly Il Libro dell’Arte by Cennino Cennini, which she translated and annotated during her graduate studies.
Currently, Wang Yu is working under the supervision of Professor Marzia Faietti at the Gabinetto dei Disegni e delle Stampe of the Uffizi Galleries, where she investigates issues of connoisseurship related to Raphael’s drawings. Her broader academic interests include the intersection of technical art history and visual culture, with a focus on the materiality of drawings and its role in artistic invention.
Her Chinese translations of Arte italiana. Mille anni di storia by Professor Antonio Paolucci and I segreti della pittura by Professor Pietro Marani are forthcoming in 2025.
