Andreas Mandler is a social scientist who graduated from Humboldt University of Berlin in Modern Literature and Philology, Central Asian Studies and East European History. After moving to Florence, he worked in the field of international development cooperation in projects in Europe and Asia. In 2011 Andreas received funding from the Volkswagen Foundation for conducting the research project "Coping with Post-Soviet Agriculture: Knowledge and Local Governance in Smallholder Production in Tajikistan" at ZEF, Centre for Development Research at University of Bonn. Recently Andreas submitted his PhD thesis investigating post-Soviet knowledge practises among smallholder farmers in Tajikistan. At the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz Andreas will assist the office of research coordination and public relations, in particular taking care of the organisation of conferences and events, as well as the support of visiting scientists.
