Federica Testa, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Federica got her degree in Art History at Università degli Studi di Siena, and she received her Phd at Università degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II” with a thesis in conservation of cultural heritage (2019). In her dissertation she investigated the practices of restoration of early modern wall paintings in Tuscany during the XIX century. Her research also focuses on the relationship between conservation practices, public institutions and art collections.

At the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz she was a Postdoc Researcher (January 2020 – March 2021) with a project on the conservative history of the church of San Francesco in Siena, and she collaborated with the KHI Digital Humanities LAB on the project Digitisation of the Churches of Siena – Research Material (April – July 2021).

Since October 2021 she is a scientific assistant for the project GAP – Graffiti Art in Prison.
