Antje Paul is the Program Coordinator of the research and fellowship program 4A Lab: Art Histories, Archaeologies, Anthropologies, Aesthetics (Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz – Max-Planck-Institut and Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz). For several years, she was a Research Associate at the BMBF-funded International Research Center "Interweaving Performance Cultures" in Berlin which has opened a new field of research: processes of interweaving performance cultures. Within this framework, she networked excellent researchers from all over the world and conceived and organized international conferences as well as artistic formats. She graduated in Theatre Studies and German Philology at Freie Universität Berlin and published a monograph entitled Träumen Sie schön. Ästhetischer Schein und gesellschaftliches Sein am Beispiel des Shoppingcenters (Aisthesis 2012) in which she critically analyses aesthetic qualities in the service of political and economic interests. Furthermore, she worked as Project Manager for an internationally operating media agency in Berlin.
