Laura Pattiss, B.A.

Student Assistant, Research Group Ethico-Aesthetics of the Visual

Laura Pattiss is an MA-candidate in Art Science at the University of Innsbruck (2023–2026) and in Museum Studies at Universiteit Leiden (2026–2027). Her master’s thesis, supervised by Prof. Dr. Magdalena Nieslony, examines the aesthetic strategies of BioArt with a particular focus on the Tissue Culture & Art Project.

She completed her bachelor’s degree in art history at the University of Innsbruck and currently works as a registrar at the Tiroler Landesmuseen. In addition to internships at Taxispalais Kunsthalle Tirol and Klocker Museum, she has contributed to student-led magazines as a writer and editor, primarily focusing on contemporary art and exhibitions. From 2024 to 2025, she co-organized a reading circle dedicated to social, postcolonial, and feminist approaches to art history.

She has received scholarships from the University of Innsbruck and the PRO SCIENTIA foundation.
