Marco M. Mascolo, PhD
Marco M. Mascolo studied at the Università degli studi di Siena, where he earned an MA (2009) in History of Art, and at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, where he obtained a PhD (2014) with a dissertation on the German-American connoisseur Wilhelm R. Valentiner (1880-1958). In 2014 he received a scholarship form the Francis Haskell Memorial Fund. Since February 2017 he has been a postdoctoral fellow at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz under the directorship of Alessandro Nova. At the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz Marco will work on a project focused on the shaping and aftermath of the Renaissance in the United States, particularly during the thirties and forties.
