Davide Civettini, M.A.

Associate Scholar

Davide Civettini is a PhD student at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. In 2016 he obtained a bachelor’s degree at the University of Trento, with a thesis on the sculptor Nanni di Bartolo, known as il Rosso, a pupil of Donatello active for some time in Venice in the first half of the 15th century. In 2020 he received his master's degree at the University of Florence with a thesis on the painter Jacopo di Arcangelo, called ‘Jacopo del Sellaio’ (Firenze, 1441/42-1493). From 2020 to 2022 he worked on the cataloguing of the Renaissance bronzes collection of the Museo Nazionale del Bargello in Florence as part of the multidisciplinary project AnaGBar. His interests mainly concern Italian painting and sculpture in the 15th and 16th centuries. His PhD project reconsiders the life and work of the painter Francesco del Cossa (Ferrara, 1436 - Bologna, 1478), providing an in-depth exploration of his influence, his relations with intellectual society and his exchanges with the Tuscan art of his time.
