Helene Bongers is assistant at the research unit Transregional Art Histories (Hannah Baader) of the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz, and at the Research and Fellowship program 4A Laboratory: Art Histories, Archaeologies, Anthropologies, Aesthetics (KHI Florenz – MPI and Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz). She finished her master with a thesis on visual narrative strategies in superhero comics at the Institute for Art History of Freie University Berlin (2019). During the BA, she studied Art History, Literary Studies and English Philology in Berlin and Paris, and wrote her BA thesis on academic and modern French history painting of the 19th century (2009–2014). Meanwhile, she worked as a student assistant at Art Histories and Aesthetic Practices (2015–2017) and at FU (2012–2014). She completed an internship at the Deutsches Forum für Kunstgeschichte in Paris (2014) and organized among others the round table series "Studium und dann? KunsthistorikerInnen über ihre Berufsfelder" at FU (2014–2016).
