Pucallpa Seminar.
Empires, Environments, Objects: Perspectives from the Peruvian Amazon

The Max-Planck Partner Group "Empires, Environments, Objects" in collaboration with "Chana - Estación para las ciencias del lenguaje y la interculturalidad" will organize a seminar in Pucallpa, Peru, which will take place from April 7 to 10, 2025. Devoted to indigenous Amazonian languages and cultures and ethically committed to its community environment, Chana is a research station of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, supported by the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig, and the University of Zurich. A group of MA and PhD students will explore past and present culture and artistic production of the Ucayali Region, guided by the Chana Team and the local indigenous communities.
