Seminar

Research Tools and Open Science at the KHI

This seminar will provide an exploration of the principles and implementation of Open Science, with an emphasis on enhancing research methodologies in the digital era.

We will address fundamental questions such as: What is Open Science? and Why is it crucial for contemporary research? The session will offer a range of perspectives, encouraging an open dialogue to elucidate the benefits that Open Science offers to both researchers and broader society.

Then, we will cover core aspects of publication and provide an overview of various research tools and resources supported by the Max Planck Society. Tools and services such as Edmond, Keeper, RDMO and AI services will be discussed, with an emphasis on their application for improving research workflows, enhancing data management, and facilitating collaboration.

Following the seminar, we invite participants to attend DH Day in the DH Lab at Palazzo Grifoni, which will remain open until 15:00. This informal gathering aims to foster continued discussion, facilitate collaboration, and allow hands-on engagement with the topics covered during the seminar. Whether you are interested in discussing specific research challenges, brainstorming project ideas, or simply enjoying a friendly atmosphere with tea and biscuits, DH Day will serve as a forum for these activities.

We look forward to welcoming you—whether in person or virtually—and engaging in a thoughtful and productive exchange of ideas.
