Maike Prause, M.A.
Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft
Maike Prause holds a master’s degree at Ruhr-University Bochum, specialized in modern and contemporary art history. In her thesis “Fluid standstill. Materiality and Temporality in three artwork-series of Lynda Benglis”, she investigated how different forms of temporality can be perceived through the formerly fluid materials and the form of the artworks, using the method of Rezeptionsästhetik.
She also holds a double bachelor's degree in Art History and Italian Philology from the Ruhr-University Bochum in Germany. During her bachelor studies, she primarily focused on urban planning aspects as well as medieval secular and sacred architecture, specifically in Italy.
Formerly a trained scenic-painter at a theatre and also working as a freelance artist and curator alongside her studies, her fields of interest also include artistic practices, curatorial work, and exhibition planning.
After an internship and two subsequent work contracts at the Bibliotheca Hertziana in Rome, she is now working as a graduate research assistant in the department of Gerhard Wolf.
