Global Florence:
The Making of an Exhibition

This panel explores the conception and organisation of Global Florence: The World of Francesco Carletti, c. 1573-1636, an exhibition to be held at the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana in Florence (October 2026 to January 2027). Bringing together the historians, art historians, librarians and the exhibition curators, the panel discusses the curatorial vision, the selection of manuscripts and rare materials, conservation and display challenges, and the collaborative partnerships that have shaped the project. The panel also considers the exhibition's engagement with Florence as a global centre of intellectual and cultural exchange in the early modern world.
