Scholarships (Max-Planck)
The selection of scholarships comprises doctoral scholarships and research scholarships for post-doctoral projects, (usually for one year with an option to extend). Current scholarships can be found under Current Issues / job postings; these are also published in the Kunstchronik, the H-net list on Art History and in the Art History portal. The Institute also awards shorter, project-related research scholarships for a period of up to three months. Applications relating to these scholarships may be made at any time.

Scholarships (financed by third-party funds)
The Kress Foundation regularly sends doctorate students to the Kunsthistorisches Institut, who work there as associated scholarship holders. In addition to this, a holder of the Swiss National Fund scholarship continue to pursue his research at the Institute. It is also possible to apply to other foundations or national research institutions to undertake a research project at the IAH after prior consultation with the Institute.
