Scholarships for undergraduate or graduate assistants, PhD students and finally Postdocs are usually funded from three months to up to one year with the possibility of extension. Announcements concerning places and scholarships for PhD students and Postdocs are published on the website of the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz, in the most used Mailing lists and on History of Art web portals (including: H-ArtHist, Mailingliste Italienforschung, Portal Kunstgeschichte, Verband Deutscher Kunsthistoriker e.V.).

The assistants of the two departments at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz, who are also in charge of organizing the "Labor", are always glad to offer guidance and advice to all doctoral candidates.
Funding for guest researchers
With the prior agreement of the Institute, applications for projects to be carried out at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz can be submitted to foundations or national bodies for research (such as the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft). The Samuel H. Kress Foundation, the Fritz Thyssen Foundation and the Landesgraduiertenförderung Baden-Württemberg regularly award scholarships to the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz.
